Eric Smith Antique Furniture Restoration and Conservation is able to offer an unparalleled service with quality being foremost at all times. Restorations are carried out with utmost care and sympathy to the original item. Eric is one of BAFRA's northern most members in Darwen, Lancashire. He served his apprenticeship in the family business with his grandfather, James A Smith of Bolton, Lancashire. In the 43 years of his restoration career, Eric took 10 years out as a Chief Furniture Draftsman, before resurrecting the family business. He is presently responsible for the furniture at Hallithwood Museum in Bolton. He has recently completed an extension of the Medial manor houses at Smithills Hall, Bolton, which incorporates a library which has a lot of inlaid Elizabeth panelling. Another of his responsibilities is the consultancy to Clare Galway Castle in Southern Ireland which has a 14th century tower with all it's ancillary rooms, but presently no roof. |
